Problems with Fiberglass Insulation

Over years of observation, we have found that even in encapsulated crawl spaces fiberglass insulation is an ideal habitat for rodents, bacteria and mold. Due to the nature of air exchange (Stack Effect). Hot air rises keeping where the insulation meets the subfloor warm, damp and hidden from sight. When rodents live and die in this space they produce harmful VOCs and bacteria that greatly affect your health and indoor air quality. Another major flaw to fiberglass insulation is that it is paper backed, making it an organic surface ideal for mold to use as a host material to inhabit, grow and multiply via reproduction.
